Queensland Premier Anna Bligh says the State Government will push ahead with plans to host the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Ms Bligh says $11 million will be spent bidding for the games in 2018.
She says an independent assessment by the Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) found the Gold Coast was capable of hosting the international sporting event.
